REV. DR. SYLVIA LEE MANN - PASTOR AND MINISTER OF MUSIC
The Reverend Dr. Sylvia Lee Mann has served as Bethel Congregational Church UCC's Pastor and Minister of Music since August of 2013.
She is the past Moderator for the Eastern Association and served for many years on the Committee on Ministry, and Nominating committee for the Eastern Association of the Southern California-Nevada Conference of the UCC, She also provides coaching to clergy and laity,
She is the Music Director & Conductor of the Southland Symphony Orchestra & Chorus, The La Verne Symphony Orchestra, The Temecula Valley Jr. Youth Symphony, is a member of the faculty at Chaffey College and the University of La Verne. Dr. Mann has also served at California State University Dominguez Hills (in both the Music and Humanities Departments), St. Teresa’s Open Catholic Seminary, and Centenary College of Louisiana. Dr. Mann holds degrees from Chapman University, the University of Southern California, and the University of London.

Sandy Gunn - Music Accompanist
In addition to being on our lay leadership team as Diaconate and Missions, Sandy Gunn is our music accompanist at Bethel. She plays piano, organ, guitar, and even Celtic Harp! Here is a bit about her in her own words:
"I started piano lessons at age 4, learned to read music before I read words and wrote my first tune at age 5. I became a professional folksinger at age 13, taught classical and folk guitar through college and performed in many groups, as well performing as a soloist, specializing in folks songs of many languages.j I had my own radio show from high school through college, introducing folk songs of many countries as a Foreign Language/Music double major from University of Kansas, Lawrence.
I love to teach. Although my main career before retirement was in business as a computer consultant, I have always taught lessons, found a music group to perform with and enjoy in learning and performing many kinds of music - classical, folk, bluegrass, jazz and opera.
Southland Symphony, founded and conducted by my partner, Dr. Sylvia Lee Mann, takes up much of my time as manager, doing PR and performing on viola or keyboard as needed by the Symphony, and singing with the Southland Symphony Chorale."
